The Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office is committed to working with both the Los Angeles County immigration community and with immigration advocates to reduce the impact of criminal convictions on the County’s immigrant population. The Immigration Unit can assist legal service providers and Los Angeles County residents in assessing the potential and actual adverse immigration consequences of prior criminal convictions and evaluate whether or not post-conviction relief will help individuals to qualify for immigration benefits/relief such as: Adjustment of Status, LPR and Non-LPR Cancellation of Removal, and Naturalization. Please view our website to see how the Immigration Unit can assist you.
